Terms of Service
Working as a team
I believe in collaborative working, and all good collaborations start with a mutual understanding.
That’s why I never work with complicated terms and conditions. I don’t like jargon, and my clients don’t like it either.
Good content is all about keeping things simple and understandable. So here’s the skinny on how we can work together.
Figuring out what you need
The first step in us working together is easy – you contact me and let me know what you need help with.
Not sure of the specifics, but have a vague idea? That’s fine too, we can hash it out together.
The more information you can provide me about your business and your goals, the better content I can produce to reach your aspirations.
How much it’s going to cost you
Most of my fees are entirely bespoke to the project. I’ll take a look at what you need and put together a proposal with a cost against each service I recommend.
Copywriting projects will typically be a one-off fee, but I am happy to work with you on a payment plan to spread the cost if you need it.
Social media and blogging services will be costed on a monthly retainer basis, of a set amount per month.
There are no hidden extras or VAT included. The only times your fee will change is if the requirements change, or you need any extra work completed. These additional costs will be communicated to you before you make any commitment.
I believe in deadlines, and sticking to them. However, it is important we discuss your expectations first to ensure I can deliver the work.
If I can’t meet a deadline for any reason, you will know as soon as possible. This can be due to a delay in receiving the information required from you to carry out the work – we’ll work this out as a team to come to a suitable solution.
The payment terms along with other terms and conditions will be outlined in your mutual agreement contract.
All deposits are required to be paid within 7 days, and final payments or retainer payments are due within 30 days.
Payments are made by bank transfer – details are provided on each invoice you receive. If payment is not received within the required timescale, an interest of 8% will be added for each week the payment is overdue.
If you are unable to make a payment on time, please inform me as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made.
It is within my best interest to create content that you love. However, I can make no guarantees about the results that the content will produce due to a vast number of variables at play.
Therefore, my fees are non-refundable and still payable even if you choose not to use the content produced.
You are welcome to cancel a project at any time should you change your mind.
If you have already paid a deposit before I have made a start on your project, you’ll forfeit 50% of the deposit. This is because I may have had to turn away other work to take on your project.
If you cancel after work has begun, you will forfeit the whole deposit and you will receive an updated invoice to pay for any of the time spent and work completed.
Let’s have a chat before you cancel, as we may be able to amend the scope or timescale of the project so it works for you.
As a small business owner, my work is always on my mind – and that’s the way I like it!
However, my operating hours for all points of contact are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
Calls and emails received outside of these hours will be dealt with at the next availability opportunity during my working time.
Further terms and conditions are stipulated in my Mutual Agreement Contract that will be sent to you to sign before beginning any work.
