On Tuesday 26 June 2018 I was invited by Dawn Gracie of Dawn’s Vintage Do to deliver a talk as part of the Festival of Learning programme at Chichester College. The Festival of Learning is a celebration of life-long learning – something I am very passionate about!
It was an honour to talk to my networking peers (and a few new faces!) all about how to create compelling content for your website. The presentation covered:
- The importance of text-based content on your website
- Finding keywords and how to use them
- Structuring your content in a creative and compelling way using the Inverted Pyramid
We also played a fun game of “good content or bad content?” looking at a couple of examples to discuss what we did and didn’t like about content from big brands. They aren’t all doing it right, after all.
Following the talk, I ran a Q&A where we discussed blogging and social media, dealing with the common issues that small business owners have with adopting these two crucial strategies to their online marketing.
A big thank you to everyone who attended today – I had some fantastic feedback and I hope all who came along left feeling inspired!
