Raising over £100,000 to transform lives.

Canine Partners is a national assistance dogs charity with their HQ based in Midhurst, West Sussex.

Their specially trained dogs are matched with a person with physical disabilities in order to provide them with greater independence.

The Project

I have an established ongoing relationship with Canine Partners looking after their website and social media content. I am heavily involved in campaign planning and implementation.

Every year, the charity takes part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, a match-funding campaign to raise vital funds.

As with any online activity for Canine Partners, my role was to create social media content to drum up excitement for the campaign and to maintain momentum during the limited time that donations can be made in order to be doubled.

The Challenge

The 2018 target was £90,000 - £20,000 more than the previous year. Working closely with the Communications team, I was involved in the brainstorming, content creation and implementation processes.

It was important to the Charity to do something more creative with the campaign - and so #TheBigWag was born. Supporters were encouraged to create videos of their dogs wagging their tail and include the information about the Christmas Challenge to increase reach.

A significant element of the campaign’s success was due to a series of videos, created in-house by Canine Partners. These would be “unlocked” each time a cash milestone was met.

  • Social media graphics

The Outcome

The campaign was a huge success, reaching over £100,000 by the deadline.

Social media follower count also grew by over 400, and collectively the social media content reached over 150,000 people.
